About Dr. Adina Chesir

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatments for anxiety, OCD, and other related disorders. I also have expertise in parent coaching for parents of children with anxiety and behavioral challenges. I work with children, teens, and adults who feel stuck in patterns of stress, overthinking, or avoidance that are hard to break. My approach is practical and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Together, we focus on both understanding what’s keeping you stuck and building concrete tools to help you respond differently so that anxiety has less control over your day-to-day life.

In addition to anxiety and OCD, I also have a special interest in working with individuals experiencing chronic pain, chronic illness, and physical symptoms that don’t have clear medical answers. I take a whole-person approach to care, with a focus on the mind-body connection and how daily life factors like sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and physical health shape emotional well-being.

My therapy style is warm, validating, and conversational. I want you to feel comfortable sharing what’s on your mind without judgment while we work together to better understand your experience. I focus on helping you build real, usable tools and identify your strengths so you can be an active participant in shaping meaningful change in your life.

I earned my doctoral degree from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology with a combined specialization in clinical psychology and school psychology. I have provided individual, group, and family therapy across a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, community mental health centers, private practice, and schools.

Outside of the therapy room, you can often find me playing tennis, spending time outdoors, and testing out new recipes.
